Submissions
- I noticed that to register as a member you have to be endorsed by two other members, how can I find a list of members to see whom I know?
We are not permitted to publish or give away such information. We suggest you ask those people you know within the community. For example, if you take or have taken any courses at Second City or the comedy program at Humber College, it's a good bet any of your instructors are members of the comedy association. - I registered as a union member to vote before but now I'm listed as Comedy Association; am I in the Comedy Association now for some reason?
Yes. Union association is only used in a voter's first year of voting. For any consecutive years as a voter, they are associated with the Comedy Association so that we do not have to continually send their info to their union for validation. - Am I eligible to make a submission for consideration in the Canadian Comedy Awards?
Only those with industry voter status may make a submission to the Canadian Comedy Awards. Please check the criteria for registering to be an industry voter. - How do I make an online submission?
You need to sign in first to your industry voter account.
Once you do, a second navigation menu will appear below the main navigation menu at the top of the page.
Click on "Your Submissions".
From the Your Submissions page, you can add a new submission or update submissions you've already made. - Can I submit more than one nomination?
Yes. You can submit any number of nominations you wish but each is considered a separate submission with a separate form and fee. - For the best web clip category, do people submit the clips in the same manner as the other categories?
Yes. All clips are submitted in the same format - DVD - so that the clip that is shown on the voting website is of the highest possible quality. - How do you want me to edit my video submission?
Editing is not necessary so long as you have indicated start and end timecodes for a 15-minute jurying clip and a 2-minute voting clip. However, an edited highlight reel is also acceptable.
Do not send in your original copy as it will not be returned to you. - If I am submitting from one product to multiple categories, do I need to submit a separate DVD/MiniDV for each category?
No. If you are submitting to multiple categories from a single product, you only need to include one DVD.
Ensure that your DVD is labeled with all your submissions' tracking ID's. Also, indicate for each of your submissions what the start and end timecodes are for your 15-minute jurying clips and 2-minute voting clips.
